vacation

I didn't expect to call Buffalo my vacation destination, but I write to you this evening from the warmth of upstate New York. I dig this city. People seem to be proud to call it home.

We played a historical club last night called the Town Ballroom. Al Capone used to hang here, and we got the full tour of his old bathroom, torture rooms and card rooms. An intimate crowd of some of the coolest folks we've met on the road, too.

Setlist:

Give
Every Good Man
Let Me Tell You Something
Break It Wide Open
Love and Do Not Hesitate
Manhattan Street
Mary the Mississippi Outlaw

To continue our American sightseeing ventures, KJ and I made the journey to Niagara Falls today so we could be official tourists today. But now, alas, I've parted my ways with my good friends and bandmates for a few solo dates, which should be a lot of fun. I'm exhausted, but it's a good exhaustion from being on the road.

Great to be home in Indiana on Friday night with so many of our great friends at the Music Mill...this show meant a lot to us, and it felt so rewarding to see the familiarity of the Midwest after many nights in hotel rooms in cities where we are strangers. Thanks to everyone who made the show such a success.

Cheers,
david
