Blog & News:

liquor for lunch

Nov 28th, 06

In my first length stay in Louisville over the holiday, I've decided to explore the town, see the sights and meet my new neighbors. My journey began at the local Spirit Shoppe last night when my roommate and I were in search of Kentucky bourbon. While I knew the state prided itself on its aged whiskey, I was unprepared for the realization that bottle signings are a regular occurence here.

Wait, what's a bottle signing?

Much like a book signing when a local literary outlet hosts an author, the liquor store here actually hosts the boy behind the booze for a meet and greet. Yes, the man who distilled the recently purchased bourbon will be back to sign bottles. Unfortunately, I'll be living from my car when this esteemed individual visits, so an autograph appears out of the question.

Knowing that I won't be home for a few weeks, I woke this morning and decided to make a photo expedition of the day. I need to be able to remember what home actually looks like. From my attached photograph, you can understand that there is more than one liquor store in my area, and many sell more than just booze.

Looking forward to setting sail tomorrow for Nashville and then most of the Eastern half of the country and seeing many of you at these shows....
