Cleveland Rocks

Nov 14th, 06

it's a truly gorgeous day. the kind of day that makes you throw the covers from the hotel bed in sheer joy to wake up. 46 degrees and raining in Cleveland. i'm going to step out in a few and look for a new pair of swimming trunks for a quick dip in lake erie.

last night was a first for me. i made a pit stop in wooster. this does not rhyme with rooster. i made the sad mistake of mispronunciation, but my new Ohioan friends excused my ignorance. i'm from kentucky, i told them. i'm sorry.

for those of you who have yet to visit this town, there is one reason that sets Wooster above many dots on the map. the rodeo cheeseburger. burger king's underground sensation. while this value menu item has long since disappeared from most bk menus, this is not the case in northeast ohio. i bought a cheeseburger doused in barbeque sauce and layered with onion rings, and it was the best $1.29 dinner i've ever eaten.

some of you may wonder, what is david's deal? he's releasing a record and driving around the country, and all he can talk about is discount fast food fare?! don't get me wrong. i'm excited for the record, but the truth is it wouldn't have been finished without fast food. this is a kind of duty for me ? to inform you of how to eat in case you ever end driving around the country searching for a way to eat dinner.

now that we've taken care of the essentials, i can tell you of my excitement for the upcoming week and the rest of the year. johnny a and his bandmates ? three of the finest musicians around ? and i am lucky enough to get to share the stage with them this week.

that's it for now. today, i'm going to be old. i bought a newspaper, and i plan on reading it from front to back, including the classifieds and police blotter. i need to know what's going on in the world.
